Solar Space Heating Systems

By increasing the size of your solar water heating, we can collect enough energy to offset heating in your home as well. Call us for more details.

Heating systems that work best with solar:

Drain Back Systems

A Drain Back System pumps a heat transfer fluid (propylene glycol or water) through the collector array harvesting its energy until the system is satisfied or until the collectors are cooler than the storage tank(s). At that point, all the heat transfer fluid will drain to a reservoir that is located in a conditioned space inside the building

Pressurized Systems

A Pressurized Solar Thermal System is filled with propylene glycol anti-freeze solution under a constant pressure. A Pressurized Solar System works by circulating fluid through solar collectors to harness the sun's energy and then deliver it to the solar storage tank. A Pressurized Solar System can utilize a solar electric panel to power the circulator or by using a differential control and an AC current pump to circulate the heat transfer fluid through the system.
